DALLAS (NCBWA) – The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association continues its tradition of NCAA Division I polls for the 28th year with its 2025 weekly surveys.
2023 NCAA champion LSU has become the fifth school – all from the Southeastern Conference – to gain the No.1 ranking after Arkansas topped the survey on May 5. The Tigers downed the Razorbacks twice in three games last weekend while Texas retained the No. 2 post. Florida State moved up to a season-high No. 3 ahead of North Carolina and Arkansas.
Some of the other big movers from week 13 to week 14 were Oregon from No. 10 to 7, Auburn from No. 12 to 8, Vanderbilt from No. 16 to 11, Coastal Carolina from No. 19 to 15 and Troy from No. 21 to 17. Florida again returned to the Top 25 after downing Texas two times in a three-game series in Austin. Northeastern, leader of the CAA entering the final week of the regular season, continues to garner major attention after winning a DI-most 20 games in a row to advance to 41-9.
There have been nine conferences and independents (eight this week) represented in the first 12 standings of 2025, and there were 12 different conferences appearing in the 2024 NCBWA polls.
The 2025 poll voters come from among 33 college baseball writers and related media persons from throughout the nation. The ’25 season features 307 NCAA Division I baseball-playing schools, and for more information or to join the NCBWA, please go to ncbwa.com.
