Tom Shatel had his origins at Mizzou:  Harpo's, the Heidelberg, Shakespeare's, Booches and other establishments where beer drinking is still the final class of the day....The Columns, Jesse Hall...Faurot Field, the Hearnes Center. And, of course, the world famous J-School halls which were the launching pads for Tom Shatel's and several other great careers such as Dodd's.

Whiteside Bert McGrane Award Winner for 2025

Longtime FWAA member and 2002 FWAA President Kelly Whiteside has been named the FWAA's 2025 Bert McGrane winner and will be honored at a dinner in Atlanta tonight hosted by the National Football Foundation and presented by the More Family. The event kicks off festivities leading up to the College Football Playoff National Championship Game on Monday night.

Veteran sportswriter Dennis Dodd of CBS Sports has been named the recipient of the FWAA’s Bert McGrane Award for 2022, symbolic of the association’s Hall of Fame. He will be honored during the Past Presidents Dinner here tonight.
